The Conversation Continues
Join us at Lipscomb University for another year of groundbreaking conversations on kids, mental health, and the online world.
The Amazing Generation
Inspired by Jonathan Haidt’s #1 New York Times bestseller The Anxious Generation, this new book for tweens is a lively, practical guide to living a fun, confident, and connected life—without letting a smartphone take over. Coauthored by Haidt and Catherine Price, author of How to Break Up with Your Phone, it speaks directly to kids ages 9–12, helping them understand how screens and social media can affect their happiness, friendships, and self-esteem.
Through engaging stories, eye-opening facts, a built-in graphic novel, and interactive challenges, readers learn how to make smart choices, protect their time and attention, and discover what truly makes life exciting. Filled with humor, honesty, and optimism, this book doesn’t just teach kids how to avoid becoming part of the “anxious generation”—it shows them how to grow into their most authentic, confident, and amazing selves.
Helping the Next Generation Thrive in a Screen-Filled World
Growing up online can be overwhelming—but it can also be amazing. Inspired by insights from The Amazing Generation, this symposium explores how we can help kids and early teens navigate screens with confidence, curiosity, and joy.
Students, parents, and educators will discover research-backed strategies, practical tools, and community approaches to foster healthy online habits. From building strong connections to creating safe digital spaces, this event is all about helping the next generation not just avoid stress and anxiety, but grow into adventurous, confident, and empowered young people.
